We asked our users to give us some ideas on how they are saving money on their food shop. We’ve put together some of these top Spring tips to help bring down that burgeoning food shopping budget.
First up thrifty Gratisfaction UK fan Sandra Peacock has more than halved her online shopping bill by switching from Tesco to Approved Food. Sandra was a regular online shopper at Tesco until she saw Approved Food featured on Gratisfaction UK. The online grocery retailer claims that you can save 70% on your shopping by purchasing short-dated branded products.
“I tend to shop online once every couple of weeks for the bulky and heavier items. I gave Approved Food a try because my family shopping bill was growing every month. I was surprised by how much I could save by buying short-dated food AND how much cheaper almost all items were.”
Cutting down on cost without cutting down on quality
For general cupboard snacks and brand favourites, Approved Food can save you a lot of money and there’s no harm in eating most products close to their ‘best-before’ date. As these NHS guidelines state best before dates are about quality not safety and Approved Food prides itself on excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Using new online grocery services and voucher codes
Another way to cut down on shopping expenses is to avoid making frequent trips to the supermarket and thus avoid those impulse purchases. Online retailers are continuing to plug this gap with many new services coming online in recent weeks.
Even online giant Amazon have dipped their toes into the grocery sector. They’ve just struck a deal with high street supermarket Morrisons – which later this year will see a whole new range of products available through Amazon. Feedback from Gratisfaction members suggests that one popular way to currently grab Amazon Pantry items is through the FREE delivery promotion.
